MID-AMERICA PRECISION PRODUCTS

SELECTED BY KAWASAKI RAIL CAR, INC.

TO MANUFACTURE CONTACTOR BOXES

JOPLIN, MO - March 31, 2003 - Mid-America Precision Products, LLC (MAPP) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract from Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc. in support of their New York City Transit rail car program.  MAPP was selected by the Yonkers, New York, company to manufacture electrical contactor boxes for each rail car produced by Kawasaki Rail Car.  The initial award is in support of mock-up car development with prototype and production car awards to be released at later dates.  Manufacturing of the contactor boxes is expected to be supported by plants in both Joplin and Stella, Missouri.

“The selection of Mid-America Precision Products by Kawasaki Rail Car on a project of this nature is exciting and continues to support our business plan of expanding our presence in the 'value-added assembly' lines of businesses," stated Doug Wright, President and CEO.

Wright continued, "Mid-America Precision Products has a proud history of working with Kawasaki Motor Manufacturing Corp. of Lincoln, Nebraska, and we look forward to continuing that strong relationship with the people at Kawasaki's Yonkers facility.”

“We’re extremely pleased to be recognized by Kawasaki Rail Car as a key supplier in this important program.  We recognize the importance they place on quality and overall business value in their supply chain, and we are confident of our ability to deliver,” said Randy Lepper, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing.

Mid-America Precision Products specializes in the manufacture of high-tolerance sheet metal fabrications, machined parts, and value-added assemblies for aerospace, telecommunications, heavy industry, and computer storage markets.  The company has recently made capital improvements to its Stella, Missouri, plant to enhance its overall capability in the value-added contract manufacturing market.  The company has three manufacturing locations in Joplin and one in Stella.
